Are you living a life that you are happy with? Are there things that you want to do, but you’re not because you believe that you can’t?
The world around us often tells us that we can’t have or do what we dream of. I believe this is what the Hindus see as delusion, which is a belief in separation. The belief of oneness is important, because in oneness, we are connected to others, the universe, and God.
Ralph Waldo Emerson stated that “self-trust is the first secret of success.”
Therefore, in order to be successful you must trust yourself, above anything else. Second, you must also trust the Universe to assist you in what you would like to accomplish.
I believe a lot of human suffering comes from us constantly “spinning our mental wheels” and trying to create solutions from a place of fear and worry. The bad thing about when we do this, it doesn’t usually result in anything but us getting ourselves all stressed out and feeling worse. We have all this power within us, which includes the solutions and ability to transcend any problem, but we falsely seek the solution by beating ourselves up with all the stress and “what ifs.” Worry is something that does absolutely NOTHING to change a situation. It lowers our energy and keeps us bound. We go round and round on a downward spiral that results in us being so debilitated that we are essentially now slaves to our feelings and our situations.
An anxious mind is not a good breeding ground for good, positive thoughts of inspiration. All the worry and strife does is creates more feelings and circumstances that add the problem that is causing the initial “freak out.”
What do you see when the wind blows amongst the trees?
Colors splatter the landscape with blooms and the glistening of light
The earth is a breathing, moving thing
It is our mother
Our Father
Our soul
Do any souls ever leave us?
Parents
Brothers
Sisters
Sons
Daughters
Do they really leave us?
Do we leave them?
The earth is our soul
The universe is the sea in which that souls moves
What is that you see in the colors?
When the white reflection shows on the water
The subtle glistening of pollen in the air
There is where the souls of our loved ones peer back at us
And there also we see our own soul
Contrary to popular opinion, we are 100% responsible for the lives we live. Life doesn’t have to be lived in a way that is filled with constant things that we don’t like or don’t want to do. If we live this life now, it is because we made the decision in the past, without meaning to, that life “has to be this way.”
The first step in turning your entire life around is to really decide what is it you want from life? What brings you joy and happiness? Most of the time, we come up with several excuses as to why we can’t do the things we love. I’m not good enough. What will people think? That’s career isn’t a guaranteed job. These are the things we tell ourselves. However, we have access to Divine Mind. The mind of Spirit runs through all things, including us and everyone around us. We are all linked by this God-Mind.
Anytime we give our attention to the things we love and the life we want to live, it combines with the mind of God and also connects with those around us. Life wants to give you all the things you love. You have to really believe that you can be happy and that you are worthy to live a fulfilled life.
Animals, like us, are learning and evolving, spiritually, in this life. They are advancing, on a soul-level, toward God realization, the knowledge that God is all there is and that we are all connected. It is through this growth, they are advancing toward natural states of compassion, love, and kindness. We see many animals who exhibit these signs of God: A gorilla who takes care of a baby kitten, a dog who rescued another dog from the highway, A cheetah who rescues a baby baboon, etc.
The soul of an animal and a human are exactly the same, one isn’t better than the other. The main thing that distinguishes us, and makes us different, is the outward manifestation.
As human beings, we have the ability to create and really master our futures. Swami Vivekananda said that the distinction was that man can become “God, the master.” The human manifestation enables us to really tune and become aware of our God-nature, and to affect change in the world around us.
